NASHVILLE, TN - February 26, 2025 – Progressive
bluegrass/Americana band Nefesh Mountain, helmed by
husband-and-wife duo Eric Lindberg and Doni
Zasloff, were recently featured on NPR's
"Weekend Edition" with host Scott Simon.
Simon interviewed the couple and with them discussed the beauty and the
hardships of today's world, their approach to life, marriage and
children, and how they address all of it with their unique style of
optimism on their new and critically-acclaimed double-album titled Beacons.
Having
just returned from Montreal, Canada, where they performed at this
year's Folk Alliance International conference, Nefesh
Mountain resumes their tour, where they will be performing a wide range
of originals and covers from their previous five albums, as well as
songs from Beacons . The new project's two full-length albums
are distinctly different, while clearly emanating from what makes
Nefesh Mountain unique in the first place—a vast musical knowledge and
equally vast curiosity, paired with immaculate musicianship. One disc
is pure bluegrass, and the other unadulterated Americana.
Nefesh Mountain is a pioneering force in the world of
bluegrass and Americana, bringing together a unique blend of musical
virtuosity, spirituality, and cultural diversity. Founded by Eric
Lindberg and Doni Zasloff, the band has toured internationally and
gained critical acclaim for their boundary-pushing sound. Their
previous albums, including Songs for the Sparrows and Beneath
the Open Sky, have been hailed as fresh, meaningful
contributions to the bluegrass genre, weaving together traditional
roots music with new perspectives.
